Notes:

The instructions were available in Estonian only but I think I will be able to knit these socks with the translation/pattern on Deepbluerenegade’s Blog

These socks start at the heel!

CO: 12 sts (JMCO)
place 4 markers (1 after every 3rd st)

Heel:
Increase-round:
k1; m1; k to 1 st before marker; m1; k1; slip marker; k1; m1; k to 1 st before marker; m1; k1; slip marker; k1; m1; k to 1 st before marker; m1; k1; slip marker; k1; m1; knit to 1 st before beginning of round; m1; k1; slip marker

After the CO and the first increase-round:
3x {knit 1 round; increase 1 round};
3x {knit 2 rounds; increase 1 round};
4x {knit 3 rounds; increase 1 round};
3x {knit 2 rounds; increase 1 round};
Until the heel fits around your ankle and two of the markers meet on top of your foot: {knit 1 round; increase 1 round}

Yes, it will be big.
I had 4x43 sts on the needles.

Leg and foot:
Continue with half the sts minus 4 (maybe slip the other half onto scrap yarn).
The 8 sts closest to the markers on top of the foot will be grafted when the sock is finished. So 4 sts from the leg and 4 sts from the foot have to be on a separate piece of scrap yarn.
You have a marker at the back of the leg and place another at the front.

In my case I continued with 2x43 sts minus 4 --> 82 sts for either the leg and the foot.

To decrease to my leg and foot measurements (adjust according to your needs):
All uneven rounds (1-23): knit
Rd 2, 6, 8, 12: decrease 2 sts around marker at the front
Rd 4, 10, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22: decrease 2 sts at the front, increase 2 sts at the back

After round 23 (knit) start short rows:
Row 1: knit to 2 sts before marker at the back; turn; slip 1 st; purl to 3 st before front marker; p2tog tbl; purl to 2 sts before back; turn;
Row 2: slip 1 st; knit to 3 sts before front; k2tog; k to 2 sts before slipped st; turn
Row 3: slip 1 st; purl to 3 st before front marker; p2tog tbl; purl to 2 sts before slipped st; turn
Repeat row 2 & 3 until there are no more sts to decrease

Knit the next round and increase sts until you have reached your “usual” stitch count.
For example, if you usually knit 64 st socks: increase to approx. 64 sts.

Cuff:
Knit 14 rows to create a rolled up cuff or knit your favourite cuff.

Toe:
For longer feet than mine knit until you reach the desired length and knit your favourite toe.

Finish:
Graft the 8 sts on top of the foot and weave in all ends.
